Do they actually work? And which one takes the least amount of effort?
Below are our reviews of the three best pelvic floor toners available.

Kegal 8 Pelvic Exerciser (Electronic stimulation)

Pelvic Floor Toner

The kegal 8 exciser takes pelvic floor exercising to a new level, and is the most advanced exciser available. The kegal 8 comes with 2 probes so you can choose the one that is most comfortable for you. The probe omits a small electrical impulse which encourages your muscles to contract and relax. With 14 preset programmes it’s very easy to use starting from the lowest setting and working your way up depending on the current strength of you pelvic floor. What’s more it’s safe to use and comfortable.
We found that using the Kegal 8 exerciser produced results quicker than any other toner on the market. We could also feel that the muscles were being exercised correctly.

Aquaflex – Pelvic Floor Exercise System (Vaginal cones)

Pelvic Floor Exercise
The Aquaflex pelvic floor exercise system is the product which was recently recommended on the Channel 4 series embarrassing illness’s and has also been clinically proven to give results. You insert the small cone into the vagina which causes your pelvic floor muscles to contract around the cone. Depending on the strength of your pelvic floor you may need to provide a little assistance to hold onto the cone at first. You use the Aquaflex system for approximately 20 minutes per day, and when you find it easy to hold onto the cone, you use the next heaviest cone and so on.
We found that the Aquaflex system was very simple to use, and the instructions supplied were very clear and precise. Noticeable results took around 12 weeks, which for the amount of effort that is required is really quite good. The cones are also supplied in a nice case which can easily be stored or transported. What’s more is the price is very reasonable.

Neurotrac Continence (Electronic stimulator)

Pelvic Floor muscles

The Neurotrac continence is a neat little device which is very similar to the Kegal  8. Whilst it doesn’t have all the features of the Kegal 8, it’s still a very good pelvic exerciser and about half the price. The unit has 9 built in programmes and what is neat is that it has 3 custom programme settings also.
Once again, as will all electronic pelvic exercisers no effort is required. Simply insert the small probe (approx 3″ x 1″) turn on, sit down and relax. Shouldn’t all exercise by this easy?

About pelvic floor toner / pelvic floor exerciser

A pelvic floor toner or exerciser is used to help tighten and tone your pelvic floor muscles. There are several different styles of pelvic floor toners available such as electronic or pulse toners, weights and cones.

Each style is really dependent on your needs although generally all will help you get results, some require less effort and some will methods will give faster results.

Electronic toners / stimulation

An electronic pelvic floor exerciser is a hand held device with a small probe (slightly larger than a tampon) that you insert into your vagina. When it is switched on the probe helps the pelvic floor muscle relax and contract which provides the required exercise. The device has a a number of preset programmes, so depending on your current pelvic floor strength, you will start at the lowest setting and work your way up through the presets as you progress. Whilst these units are the most expensive ranging from 50 to 200, they require the least amount of effort from yourself and you can be sure that you are exercising the pelvis correctly and in the proper way. They will also help you gain results quicker than just carrying out natural exercises.

Vaginal cones

Vaginal cones are a series of small plastic cones of the same size but of differing weights. You insert the cone into the vagina for approximately 15 minutes per day. To start you use the lightest weight and work your way up to the heaviest. Once the cone is inserted you hold onto it using your pelvic floor muscles, once you have reached the stage where you can easily hold onto the lightest weight, you move up to the next weight and so on.

Why do you need a pelvic floor toner ?

It might seem strange that you need to purchase a device such as these but the symptoms of weak pelvic floor muscles can be very embarrassing to say the least.

It’s also worth remembering that its not only older women, or women that have recently experienced child birth who need to carry out these kegal exercises but all adult women should regularly exercise the pelvis floor to prevent future problems. It’s a well known fact that muscles deteriorate with age and the younger that you start exercising the less chance you will suffer from stress incontinence or urinary problems. Furthermore its known that sexual pleasure can also be increased by carrying out regular exercise of the vaginal muscles.

Whilst exercises can be carried out without the need for any device, the results from the natural method can take 10 to 12 weeks, but it can also be difficult to know that you are working the correct muscle. Not only do pelvic floor toners help speed up the process but they ensure that the exercise is being carried out correctly and require the minimal of effort.
